Getting a bargain is good
Saving money is a good practice
One reason that people have financial problems is sometimes that they are too quick to spend money without thought. Money may seem readily availabl,e or a credit card is easy to use, so people spend without considering the consequences. That can lead to trouble.
I personally have that issue myself. I seldom look for a sale or a bargain. There are some good deals at warehouse stores such as Costco, where I shop on a regular basis. However, you normally have to buy in large quantities, so you may not need everything you purchase. It won’t be savings if you buy too much so that it goes to waste. Items which do not go bad quickly can be saving.
Especially during the COVID-19 pandemic when people are not able to socialize and get together in groups, going shopping may be the only outlet for some people. Most stores are open. Going to buy groceries or to shop at other stores has become almost the only place to go in many cases.
People who like to save money look for bargains and sales. They shop at stores that run good sales on quality merchandise, or they may go to discount stores that are known to carry brand name merchandise but sell at a discounted price.
Actually, it is not only wise to save money, but you can have fun and feel good about spending if you are saving at the same time. Getting a bargain and spending less is an effective way to get ahead with your finances.
People should spend less than they earn. That is good advice but not always easy when credit cards are readily available for almost all expenditures. That money spent on credit will absolutely need to be paid back at some later time. Running up large balances on credit cards is an unwise practice. Paying off credit cards each month is the better way to get a good handle on your finances and spending. Credit card use must be monitored.
Some people make it a habit to shop sales and use coupons for grocery shopping. That does take some extra effort, but it can be effective in cutting down on spending and saving some money.
Life can be happier by spending less and saving more. It eases stress and makes life more enjoyable.
